How long has this company been in business?
For Your Pleasure, Inc. began as Rainbow resource, a mail-order and internet based company. In 1995 Rainbow Resource became For Your Pleasure, a wholesale representative plan. At that time, IBA's had to carry the inventory and do much of the work. In 1999 For Your Pleasure became incorporated and developed the Party Plan Division.
Who are the principal owners?
The President and CEO of For Your Pleasure, Charmaine Bennett, has over 25 years in business, sales, marketing and finance. This provides the solid framework by which For Your Pleasure Inc. is run. With years of consulting in business, edging companies forward or turning them when headed for disaster, our CEO has demonstrated ability in many areas, including the ability to perform Home Parties and build very large organizations with much success!
Is the company debt-free?
Yes!
Fill out the contact form in "Sign Me Up!" and you will be contacted within 24 hours to talk about the business and be given an application. You must have 4 parties lined up before sending in your application.
I can't afford much, is it better that I earn my kit?
That depends. Take a look at our monthly sign up special. Sometimes we have amazing specials where in the end your kit was free. Just know that you start at a 35% buying discount when you sign up with an OFB (unless your OFB Show sales are $1000 or more). Also, your OFB could have been one of your 4 lined up parties and could have been YOUR sales towards qualification. Just something to think about. I can help you with ideas to come up with the money to purchase at least the $250 starter kit.
When will I get my kit?
FYP prioritizes the kits. Your kit is shipped about 1 business day after signing up should be received by the time UPS Ground arrives from New Hampshire
I would recommend you don't spend your entire budget on your kit. If you can afford the $1000 kit, then consider the $500 kit or if you can only afford the $500 kit then consider the $250 kit and spend the extra money on business cards, rolling boxes for your parties, party material, kit upgrades, etc.
What's up with the $1000 in 60 days requirement?
For Your Pleasure strives on building strong and succesful business owners. By fulfilling this requirement, you will have acheived your initial goal of 'qualifying'. This is an awesome acheivement! As a recruiter, this prevents others from joining "just for the discount" or to have a kit worth of products at a steep discount for personal use. Your 4 party line up could easily cover the $1000.
What if I don't make $1000 in 60 days?
You request a 30 day extension.
What if I can't book 4 parties?
Surely, you will be able to book 4 parties. We will work with you on ways to be able to put 4 parties on your calendar for your first 30 days.
Are there any hidden fees?
No hidden fees. $25 initial application fee and $10 per month to be able to accept credit cards through For Your Pleasure's merchant account. No yearly fees.
Do I need to obtain a Merchant Credit Card Account?
You will want to have the ability to take credit card sales as this factor does effect your party sales. At For Your Pleasure we process all credit card sales for you. There is no need to obtain a Merchant Account. For a flat fee of $10 a month, you can process unlimited cards. Some companies charge more than 3% of your sales!
Am I expected to pay the Hostess Credits?
No, For Your Pleasure pays 100% of your hostess's credits, bonus credits and specials/discounts.
What am I being asked to charge each customer for shipping & handling?
For Your Pleasure charges a flat fee of $4.95 for shipping to hostesses and $7.95 to ship to an individual.
How much time is involved from the time I submit my orders/shows until it gets to my hostess / customer?
This will make or break your business. For Your Pleasure, Inc. houses its entire inventory. We average same day turnaround on am orders/shows and Next day turnaround (sometimes- same day) on pm order/shows. (Varies by season) The process is streamlined. We ship directly to your customers and/or hostesses with everything bagged and labeled individually. When you do not use this method here is what happens. You do a show or take an order. You then must order this merchandise because even if you carry inventory, there is still a very high probability that you do not have everything. The merchandise is then shipped to you (you pay shipping & handling) and then you must bag it, label it and ship it again (additional expense and large time commitment). Now, ask yourself which of the above systems is more time efficient, cost efficient and leaves you with happier customers/hostesses? Is this an important decision factor for you? If you are concerned about personalizing your package, FYP will put contact labels on your products for $1 a party. Yes, One Dollar. Any additional info or promotions can easily be sent separately. For Your Pleasure, Inc.provides consultants with UPS Tracking numbers so you can alert your hostess and customers of the arrival time of their package. And thanking them again for their party. This is excellent customer service!
Does the order ship 'discreetly'?
Yes! If a customer at a party chooses to have it shipped to the hostess, it will be in a heavy duty brown paper bag, stapled shut with her label on it (name, number). If a customer chooses to have it shipped to them, their package is in a brown box from the company, "FYP".
It is not necessary to lug anything but a kit and a smile. We did away with our old program years ago that required you to do this. FYP now has a very streamlined operating structure designed to give you more money with less time invested. We call ourselves "The Working Smarter - Not Harder" Company.
What do you really mean by the impulse sale? Fact or Fallacy?
For Your Pleasure Distributors have very high show averages. We believe this is due to the fact that we have a wider selection than most (over 1300 products) and FYP pays the hostess credits so our hosts find comfort in knowing the distributor has nothing to lose by awarding every penny earned in sales. We have monitored our sales since the inception of our 101 page full color catalog and find that, additionally, show sales averages have increased for our Business Associates by an astounding 30%. It is very important when comparing companies to know what that companies shows are averaging and what are the sales tools being utilized. Are they carrying the store (carrying inventory) to get the sales, are they using professional sales materials etc.
Do you have a color catalog?
This is very important. There are many companies out there that just print off pictures, just have text, or give you CD's that you have to print from. This is extremely expensive as most printers in the home today are color inkjets. And text-only flyers really cannot give you a feel for the products. You really just need to know that you can purchase a color catalog from the company and whether or not you like their sales materials. For Your Pleasure's catalog is 116 pages of full color accurate images and detailed description. Included in the catalog is the hostess rewards program (pg 7), Hostess Exclusives (page 41-45), educational information and pages about the business opportunity.
Can I take my business to the Web?
For Your Pleasure Independent Business Associates are encouraged to build a web presence with our assistance. We will help you get your site up on the web! In-house support. We are full of resources to help you make a website just like this one or www.tristatepleasure.com for only $6 a month! Or even free! Are there any advertising restrictions?
FYP is very lenient with their advertising policy. If you are going to have a personal website, it must say "For Your Pleasure Independent Business Associate" on the home page. All sites need to be approved. Otherwise, there are no resrtictions as to where, how, when and what you advertise.
What is a "Buying Discount"?
This is your profit at a party. You sell the items at retail, then buy them from For Your Pleasure at your buying discount, starting at 40%.
Do I get the same buying discount on all items?
YES! Your buying discount pertains to EVERYTHING we sell. Lingerie, Swings, Sex Furniture (Liberator), etc.
How do I increase my buying discount?
By building a team and elevating in title. At Managing Director, you permanently bump up to 45% until you make Managing Regional Director. Then you permanently bump to 50%. Attend convention and the president will give you 60% the following month.
Is recruiting required?
No, but I strongly recommend it to build residual income.
I live in a conservative area, what will people think of me?
And what does it matter how people think about you? If you are worried about a reputation or being frowned upon, handle yourself as a businesswoman. Book your parties, recruit others and soon enough everyone will want a party! Don't forget, you can custom tailor your parties to be as you want. We have over 1300 items to work with, you can only show romance items, to do a "Romance Home Show". This is all up to you.
Are co-ed parties allowed?
Yes!
Do I have to pay my own sales tax?
No, For Your Pleasure will handle that for you.
How much are supplies like catalogs, order forms, samples?
They are very affordable. You can get 100 catalogs for $90. Each catalog has $3.50 printed on it, so you can sell them. Order forms at 100 for $7. Samples are very inexpensive and great for prices. Pillow packs run as low as .20 each. Small cordless, waterproof bullets are $2-$3. (Another company sells this very same product for over $13!!) Travel size lotions like Coochy Cream and Body dew are $1.15 each. Small sample candles are $1.75.
How will I get party leads?
This will all come wiith your training. You will learn the ins and outs of getting party leads, then booking them!
